Analysis of If

Charles Fields II 1955 (Fort Bragg, NC)

We are to believe
somehow in destiny

As our existence

comes someday
to be remembered

For some word,
some deed

or vanish
into obscurity

In our transcendental
meditations.

Drumbeats
of our minds

Carried through mists
of time.

Where, now…
A tidal wave has struck

Changed the mood.

To discover in our visions,
what truth or luck

We might find
as the full moon rises.

A lone wolf's howl
breaking the wall of silence

and the aura
which surrounds us

Begins again
with an awakening in our will.

Sounds of worlds far
between dimensions

Even what we know
as consciousness

Recollections of dreams
in motion

Connecting
our awareness of the universe

Currents deep
where our emotions freely flow.

No, this is not to be
our day in Hell

Do not worry
about what others may say

They do not understand,
never will...

A prayer for fusion
of supernatural abilities

You will perceive,
right on time

just relax,
expand your mind

Let your spirits sail
catch the wind just right

As its naturally unwinding,

feel the space
Between you and i

vanish as we climb
further on

Hovering in space above
our sleeping bodies

In ways
almost magical,

Outside of
the usual slow-motion dance

Of grains of sand
on the beach

Tossed back and forth.
Between water, and shore

propelled by the winds and time
aligned

with the rise and ebb
of waves.

Impelled
inclined

To radiant pulses
from the Sun’s kisses.

Of energy mass in motion
with particles streaming,

caught
in the current,

carried
with the tide,

Transposed
in ever-changing dimensions.

Lost in the flow
between

We believe of
as Heaven

what we know
Of life …
