Analysis of The Office
As I walk in the office
It’s filled to the brim
Semicolons, ranters and “I wanna be slims”
The music is somber and smooth
It does no help
For the edge doesn’t soothe
As I’m called to the back
My heart starts to slack
Because I see a pile of toys
Because there’s melancholy to these plastic
joys
I think of the kid
Little 9-year-old Syd
She screams and she tweaks
But her heart is still weak
I think of her mom
Tired and unaware
Baby’s personality the meds don’t spare
I think of the boy who wears hoodies in summer
He scratches his sleeve
His skin starts to grieve
But he’ll one day see beauty in scars
I think of Alexia
The kids call her “rexia”
But her friends call her the hot one
I think of John
Who should be gone
But his mom walked in on time
I think of Carter
Who broke up with Mandy
After Auntie Sue walked in the room
And caught him cuddling Randy
I think of Beth
Who looks like death
And smells like last night’s shots
I think about Frank
Who works at the bank
And has two kids and a wife
The house is unhappy
Due to the white displayed
On his pockets knife
The music is somber
I can’t take it no longer
But the office still feels like home.
