Analysis of Near The End Of The Road
Near The End Of The Road
My once-growing circle
of family and friends
has been visibly dwindling
by various ends.
I see fewer faces
wherever I look
and time's closing in fast,
like the end of a book.
The sentiment deepens
at heart by the day
and more often than not,
will I sink in dismay.
Philosophical thoughts
tend to take up more time
than the lighthearted fancies
which solaced my mind.
I envision a place
where I see the reflections
of family and friends,
from my fond recollections.
A disheartening thought,
to be standing alone
in a world, left without
everybody you've known.
