Analysis of EARTH IN HEAVEN
MARIANNA GIANNOPAPA 1979 (Athens)
At the end of our lives, we all stand by God’s side
All books mention with relief, that with Him we’ll have no needs
No more hunger, no more thirst, no more cry and pain to bear
Sometimes though, I sit and think…what about the things we’ll miss?
What about our favorite food, when oh God it tastes so good!
Shall we ever swim so free, in those warm and crystal seas?
What about falling in love? Can we feel it there, above?
And the taste of the first kiss? Do angels know how strong this is?
Shall we laugh with friends up high? Shall we drink with them red wine?
What about the songs we love? Music, movies, popcorn, fun!
Deep inside I know so well, that all these belong to earth
So please God, the day I die, leave my memory behind…
