Analysis of Never, Not Yet
(In honor of October being National Domestic Violence Awareness Month.)
Your words are caustic
Your eyes are fire
You claim love
It burns only as desire
What was once tomorrow
Can only be today
Only a moment
Disguised as someone, some way
A soft look behind me
A pause
A wonder of regret
But no
Never
Never, not yet
