Analysis of Sea's Murmur upon Humankind

Upon me have millions of souls
Told their secret stories—
From helpless longing to a sweet lady,
To the lament of their deathless, broken dreams;
O, how I've seen it all!
The playful nature of human infancy,
To their utmost intense melancholy;
Their weak, yet resistant existence,
Their riddled, yet pure in movements,
Almost bird-like in flocks
Have they roamed this mother earth
With such assurance in their steps,
Creating a certain well-followed path.

But some,
Some of those loneliest hearts,
Who's meant to follow the strain of their own psalms,
They've sung the most solemn tunes
To my pleasant ears—
Of my dazzling, crystal swell
Have they painted the most ethereal imagery,
Of my melodious hymn
Have they written verses that chime sweetly,
And of my gallant stature,
O, have they found meaning through the nature!

The human race and all their journey,
Forever, that I'll bind them with my beauty,
As they've filled me back with countless history.
And though I might signify beauty
In its utmost secrecy,
Humankind at its best quality,
They are God's highest artistry!

About this poem

This poem was inspired by Coldplay's song entitled 'Oceans'. It evoked my deep admiration towards the sea, and in the process of its writing, I wonder if the sea holds the same kind of admiration towards mankind in general as they're probably the only sentient being whose consciousness can build up meanings upon this indifferent world of nature.
