Analysis of The Dark Battle
As my heart peers out onto this sullen’d battlefield called love, the ashes of a great battle are all that remains. The blood-soaked ravages of the heart brings a tear down my cheek, falling to the knees tattered armor clanks as my wounds ache. Why do we fight these battles, why is there so much pain in this thing called love. I begin to shed my armor of protection, dropping my sword of fight. Rising to one knee I raise my hands to the heavens, tears race down my face into pools of shame as curses leave my tongue. Standing once again I trudge to the edge of this field of crimes of the heart, there is no victory today in this supposed win just piercing survival. As I turn once more to peer over the blood-soaked carnage of a past, yes past, there is no fight left in me. Turning to the sun I look into the future with a heavy heart, peace of mind over time may hopefully heal the wounds and ravages of this thing called the battlefield of love...But, hope fades fast… Pressing my fingers into my chest, piercing the skin reaching in deep. Blood-soaked fingers breaking chest bones as I scream out, my heart is pulled swiftly from my chest. One last tear rolls down my face as I fall to the earth for the last time tossing my falling heart to the setting sunshine… the warmth has left the land and dark times fall! I need breath no more… ...
