Analysis of Just breathe

Oh no, it's happening again,
Everything is moving around me, but I am slowing down,
My heart, though, doesn't,
Beating faster,
Faster,
Palms sweating,
Head light but heavy,
Chest tight,
Breathing uneven,
Can anyone see this?
Or am I coping well this time,
Breathe,
Just breathe slowly,
What I can see?
People,
A table,
The chairs,
What I can feel?
The counter,
My soft jumper,
My hands cupped together like they are supporting each other,
What I can hear?
My heartbeat,
Conversations of others,
The rain on the ground,
Breathe,
Just breathe slowly,
You got this,
Come on,
You got this,
Breathe,
Just breathe slowly,
Then suddenly,
My heart gets slower,
My palms less sweaty,
My head, not so heavy,
Chest untigthend,
Breathing steady,
I did it,
No one even noticed,
But I did, and I am proud that I defeated you again!

Samantha Molloy

I started writing poetry based on the kindest people I met along my life journey and the hurt they received behind that kindness to others. As the kindest people I know are not kind to recieve something back, they are kind because they know what it is like to be on the receiving end of hurt. more…
