Analysis of Millennial Dilemma
Scattered notes
And endless sketches
Remnants of the past
That rear up unexpectedly
And flash a hoof through my chest
Bringing a longing
A desperate need
To find out how
I must have been a genius once
I can’t even turn pen to page
Paint to canvas
In this cacophony of every day
There are no moments of pause
And yet
Were there ever?
Or was I just better
At finding my own?
Report cards and acclamations
A list of sold paintings
Certificates and awards
Half buried in a closet
Call out to me
Like a look in the mirror
I must have been a genius
Once?
