Analysis of Ferris Wheel Of Life

there is art in complication because not everyone understands it
there is emptiness in melancholy because not everyone can feel it
my mind needs an alteration because i know that i can't fix it
i give myself validation
because they would not always be there for me and my soul, they would not always be there to heal it
my brain doesn't let me think about emotions
and i wait for it to not keep me waiting
the thoughts which should not be there in my head
are a coping mechanism which tells me "it's okay, just a little more and you'd end it"
bad things are an addiction
but when everyone leaves, and it stays, it gets a bit more addicting
devotion is a sacrifice,
and sacrificing is a sin
but when i fall down from the ferris wheel of time, the promises of "forever" wouldn't be the saviour of my life and save it

About this poem

This poignant poem explores the intricate facets of human experience, delving into the intersection of art, melancholy, and the perpetual struggle for self-validation. The speaker grapples with the complexity of their own mind, acknowledging the need for alteration. Emotions are elusive, restrained by a mind that resists their exploration. The coping mechanism becomes a haunting companion, whispering both solace and despair. The verses touch on the addictive nature of adversity, highlighting the challenge when solitude persists. Devotion is presented as a sacrificial act, with the acknowledgment that such sacrifices may be deemed sinful. Ultimately, the poem contemplates the transient nature of promises and their inability to rescue the speaker from the inevitable falls of life's metaphorical ferris wheel.
