Analysis of Broken
Robert Catron 1963 (Kansas)
I don't understand what's wrong with me,
No one wants to be my friend-am I broken-maybe?
I'd give anything to feel loved inside,
Can't anyone hear all of the tears I've cried?
I used to be the one everyone wanted around,
But now I feel like the world's most unwanted clown.
I can feel the walls closing in more each day,
I feel more like a failure with the passing of each day.
Everyone I show love to seems to just walk away,
Am I meant to have my heart broken in every possible way?
People tell me don't be afraid to express your heart,
But when I show people love-they disappear right from the start.
My kids no longer want me around-tell me what to do,
I feel so alone inside and why no one wants me-I have no clue?
I've got so much love to give but no one wants it-it's clear,
My loneliness is killing much of me inside-I'm going to die I fear.
I walk thru each day wondering doesn't anybody care,
I feel so broken inside can't anyone see the hurt in my heart-it's not fair.
I've tried to find new people to try to open up to,
But I know in the end they'll just break my heart-It's true.
I've tried to find other friends but their all just the same,
Like everything else I've failed at-I only have myself to blame.
I've expressed some feelings that were once unspoken,
Maybe you can help me to understand why I feel so broken?
