Analysis of The Silent Abuser...

I've a couple of times seen that love can't be true,
It can be so strong it'll make you black and blue.
When will we as people ever begin to learn,
We sit back and watch it happen with little to no concern?
It could be a friend or even a family member too,
Should we get in the middle of it - sometimes we don't even have a clue?
I feel it's a problem that's easier said than done,
Some people in this world beat others just to do it for fun.
Where is the love that's gentle and soft to the touch,
We need it to make a come back - God knows we need it so much.
Love should be something that two people share,
When your loving someone right - no hitting should even be there.
We watch it on the news - we see it happening in the street,
It's never the side of them they ever show when at first you meet.
It's what they keep silent - hidden deep and far away,
Till one day their anger opens the door and ruins the whole day.
Alcohol is like fuel added to the fire when the anger comes to life,
It blurs their vision of right from wrong and they rage out hitting a husband, child or a wife.
Oh they say that they are sorry - and they'll never do it again,
But don't you ever believe it  - not for once - they're lying to you my friend.
It's best to just wait it out - till one day they are off and gone away,
Then you make your run for it as I did and find yourself another place to stay.
Go to the police and get yourself an order of protection,
What will they say to the cops questions - bet the truth they never mention.
They are just snakes in the grass - a serpent without a soul,
Till the one day they die and Hell now is their eternal goal.
So take it from a victim of abuse - be careful who you trust,
Satan is like a thief in the night - your soul he will turn to dust.
