Analysis of Tears

where water holds its currency,
there exists a tear,
treasured beyond imagining,
its value untethered
by the laws
of surface tension.
it's not mere water,
but vessel of emotion.
a single tear,
an ocean of sentiment distilled,
its importance measures
not in weight,
but in essence,
wherein lies the countenance
of humanity's turmoil,
beheld within
the translucent prism of drops.
the chemist may proclaim
its composition clear,
as it coursed through
ducts and gathered
upon cheekbones,
but that which makes it rare,
transcends the quantifiable;
one percent water,
the remaining inclinations
incalculable.
it carries the dreams
of hopeful lovers,
yearning hearts
and jagged strife,
intentions born in threads
of laughter,
or birthed from the darkness
of despair.
within its stream,
revelations flow,
words unspoken,
and truths untold,
the delicate balance
of joy and sorrow,
imbued within this liquid
cloak of empathy.
the weeper's ode
to the pain of loss,
a mother's pride
or a father's regret,
all distilled within
this salty river,
which mirrors the human heart,
ever profound.
it's is not the water
that holds significance,
but the essence of feeling
which it encapsulates,
the undulating tide
of sentiment
never stagnant,
one part fluid,
and ninety-nine parts
the human spirit.
