Analysis of Happenstance
I'm a book bound to myself, eager to express. Forlorn, sedentary on a shelf. My jacket concealed behind dust, like the early first snow conceals a rose. Hinges guard text. Anxious for an embrace, to be held beneath light, to unfold my soul. Envious of bookmarks, dog ears, tear stains, merriment, and creased spine. For what reason? Am I poorly penned or unfound?
