Analysis of Smile Missed
For each scar that I carry aren’t the same
I find myself only to blame.
Screaming inside but not one soul hears,
poisoning my body trying to stop the tears.
Gave up the one and only thing I adore,
but for him I wanted so much more.
That smile etched into my mind and soul
years gone by mind taken a toll.
My mind is my own prison hell,
placed in chains and shackles given no bail.
Hours I sit and staring off in wonder,
is he like me does he just sit around and ponder?
Reasons of mine you may not understand,
with these cards he has a better hand.
Hope held on to, dare I say
to see that smile again one sunny day.

About this poem
This poem is written during a very hard part of my life about a situation I had to make a very hard decision on!! I was so full of guilt and grief and found that writing this helped me release some of that but it will also be something that will serve as a purpose later on in life!
