Analysis of Moments Not Yet Known

Moments Not Yet Known

From the vent of the smoldering volcano, embers glow
Lava weaves a tapestry of secrets, long ago
Your presence, so remote, yet remarkably close
Voyagers from a bygone era, our spirits disclose.

No whispers from yesteryear in our discourse sway
Yet, your smile crafts a mural both near and far away
Chronicles murmured by the ancient winds unfold
Where love, joy, and poignant goodbyes are told.

Your gaze, a gentle compass in unfamiliar terrain
Guides me in this mystic domain's shifting sands
As if beholding Degas’s “Ballerinas,” graceful and refined
Or hearing Tchaikovsky’s “Swan Lake” for the first time.

Could it be that our souls once waltzed to Frederick Chopin?
Fate’s sophisticated choreography, a ballet in the light of the moon
Your laughter, a haunting melody in nocturnal dreams
Symphonies of recollection, timeless streams resound harmonious refrains.

Beneath the veneer of unfamiliarity
Is shared knowledge in the layers that time bestows
As lava cools, solidifying our unspoken connection
The igneous rock holds the artifacts of our hidden past.

Your charisma, an enigma, oddly comforting
A scent of old books, a song’s familiar sing
Stirring sentiments buried in the recesses of the mind
A dance between the known and the undiscovered, we find.

In the silent spaces of our words, unsaid
An intricate rhythm beats as our hearts pulsate
Remanence of a shared history faintly displayed
A chapter awaiting revelation, yet not betrayed.

As the molten rivers of the earth erupt with fervent might
A luminous cascade, an ethereal ballet in the cosmic light
The quiet aftermath adorned with tears, like stars in flight
Our untold saga ends, a celestial farewell, bittersweet, bright.

About this poem

It is about familiarity with someone you have never met, but it is as if you had known each other in another place and time.
