Analysis of The Speed of Light

The speed of light has been already calculated -
Almost three hundred thousand kilometers per second.
This concept being constantly upgraded,
It leaves us – humans - no chance to be mistaken…

It means that we can get the sunlight here
Within eight minutes plus some seconds – so fast!
This makes the bright sun seem to be so near…
Alas! It is but an illusion that will last.

The famous formula “E_equals_MC_squared”
Is only true for physical phenomena around.
But what about human souls that have dared
To try like, the young Icarus, to leave the ground?

The priceless light of human soul is eternal,
But can it also travel with the same speed?
I wish this were a measure of our progress level
Not less than any technical advance, indeed.
