Analysis of The lie about beauty

In a world that sings of beauty's lies,
Where standards shift and change like shifting skies,
I gaze upon the mirror, searching deep within,
To find the truth, the essence of my skin.

The lie about beauty whispers in my ear,
That flawless perfection is what I should revere,
But within these lines, these imperfections laid,
A story unfolds, a beauty not to fade.

For beauty is not confined to outward grace,
But blooms within the heart, in every hidden space,
It radiates through kindness, compassion, and love,
A tapestry woven intricately, from high above.

In every laugh line etched upon the face,
In scars and freckles, each with their own trace,
A unique masterpiece, each stroke and hue,
A testament to strength, authenticity shining through.

True beauty dances in vulnerability's embrace,
Embracing flaws, imperfections without a trace,
For it is in our shadows, where true beauty lies,
In our deepest hurts, where our spirit truly flies.

So let us break the chains, discard society's deceit,
Embrace the truth, let our authentic selves meet,
For the lie about beauty holds us in its sway,
But the power of true beauty cannot be led astray.

So let us celebrate the radiant and the real,
Let us unveil the beauty that we often conceal,
For within our hearts, the greatest beauty resides,
And in this truth, our souls forever shall collide.

About this poem

My poem is about how society believes beauty is only on the outside and how I feel about it.
