Analysis of If I were Orpheus

I, Orpheus, the lonely wanderer...
I, who is armed with a harp, travel the Underworld...
in search of the one who I deem my beloved...
Even in the most dire of situations, even if it leads to
the Ruler of the Dead, I trudged the dreaded path...

Seeking the love that has gone before me...
And in that midst of sorrows I will woo them with songs...
Sing with words that come from the heart...
With hopes that I will be united with you again...
and forever will I stay by your side...

But the road is hard, the earth covered in darkness...
How, by the Gods, will I make my way?
Will no one hear my cries?
No matter, I will continue on...
I will conquer the shades that guards the gates...
Be it my fate, I will follow you...
For I know, deep in my heart,
your love will be my guide...

I strengthen myself from the evil...
I ready my instrument, my mind...
Never will I falter, the promise I made I vow to keep...

Even if it takes me to the dark abyss...
As long as you are there, I shall follow...
