Analysis of The Kids Have Questions.....

Do you feel it looming in the air,
Do you feel it?
That black cloud of smoke
Creeping into your cities,
Over your schools and playgrounds,
In the sky when you’re walking
To the office
In the morning.
Choking you up so unexpectedly.

Well, sir the kids have questions.
We think it’s time you unclench your fists.
The kids have questions!

The parties are turning sinister
The confetti looks like gun powder
And these drinks taste off.
Your friends are getting handcuffed
By the criminals who run the prisons.
It’s all a jury of your peers
It’s just a jury of your peers,
We’re binary code.
We’re all just stick people now.

Hey, the kids have questions!

And in your world young girls
Must tend to the needs of the men.
And smile and bow
And plead and exceed.
And boys put their tears in their hands
And clench their fists ‘till they look just like yours.
Just like yours.

Hey, the kids have questions!

You tell us the whole world’s in debt,
But to who?
To you?
What happened to forgive and forget?
Didn’t you teach that in school?
Like you taught that the trees will be green
And the sky will be blue.
But for how long will that be true?
Oh, your giving too many bodies back to the ground
Like a sacrifice,
what are you looking to get?
what are you looking to get?
This colour of red wasn’t meant for the ground.

Hey! The kids have questions!

A society is only as healthy as it’s youth
But you..
Push the kids off the swings
With a doll in one hand
And a gavel in the other
Tell them to go and
bandage
the equator
While you’re gone and sleeping
Beneath
The
Earth
                    While it’s on fire.
A gun
 In one hand,
And a doll in the other.
With that big box of ethics
You put
aside
For later.

Well, we have to live in the later.
And we have some questions……

Well hey the kids have questions.
We think it’s time you unclench your fist.
‘Cause the kids have questions.
And sir
And ma’am
And leader
An author
And teacher
And preacher
And president
Prime minister
And CEO
And prophet
We all have questions
