Analysis of The Prophetic Word
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
We do not follow any myths,
When we had made known unto you;
No fable as told that uplifts,
Rather witnessed accounts as true.
The power coming from the Lord,
Eyewitnessed of His Majesty;
That cannot ever be ignored,
Which is holding a mystery.
Because this is God’s beloved Son,
To whom He is very well pleased;
In being the Anointed One,
That your sinful burden is eased.
We heard His voice borne from Heaven,
With Him on the Holy Mountain;
That transgressions are forgiven,
To drink from the living fountain.
For we have the prophetic word,
That’s guiding us through a dark place;
As the day dawns of what is heard,
The morning star that gives us grace.
No prophecy of the Scripture,
From anyone’s interpretation;
Not reflecting on a culture,
Nor being an imitation.
No prophecy ever produced,
In old times by the will of man;
And no harlot that had seduced,
Nor a fallacy in God’s plan.
Rather by men of God who spoke,
As moved by the Holy Spirit;
Written in a way to invoke,
About what we will inherit.
