Analysis of THE DEATH OF PIP

SWIFT 1985 (Bury)

Even before I knew,
I knew.

It's not a loss of thought, but a confusion -
a trip down 'memory lame'.

You jostle and you nudge,
and you
shake
and you swear,
and you read every piece
of literature whilst preparing to prepare.

But when they're gone,
when they're DEAD, what will you do..?

Will you try to fashion a corpse
built on the framework
of the man you once knew?

We all will follow in those dark,
heavy brogues…

So, lace -
with the solace of a
curated
(kindly done)
gentleman,
who is wond'ring why you're not making a better use of your plans.

No shame.
No will.

Just a shame.

That so far,
your total is…
