Analysis of Boat on the Water
Looking out over the water, a small dot
appears on the horizon.
Floating, drifting, swaying with the waves,
the wind carries it closer to the shore.
Mesmerized I can only watch, larger and
larger it grows.
Time passes slowly as I sit and wait,
anticipating it's arrival.
Frail, weathered, braving all elements,
the small craft's voyage comes it's end.
Today the small boat journeyed from afar,
over the waters of the reflecting pool.
Safely reaching the other side of the pool,
a man inspects the boat, before
setting it back into the water,
for the return trip.
A toy boat sails for home, to the happy
child with out-stretched hands.
It's captain.
