Analysis of Fenced Out Of Friendship
It is something the rich need to remember
That in the end you can only be
As rich as your neighbour!
High fences will not keep out
From you hurricanes, floods and drought!
Do you want to be looking over your shoulder
On who is coming over the border?
Feed the beggar at your door and you'll
Have his friendship for ever more!
Sometimes the most needful guest
Can turn out to be more companionship
Than all your other syncophantic guests!
Sometimes such unexpected gifts the poor bring
Like the true love of God
That will make your heart sing!
It is something the rich need to remember
That you are only as rich as your neighbour!
