Analysis of On Both Sides

Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)

On both sides,
Of an aisle all walk and taught...
The feeding to want,
Their own selfish needs.
Fed to greed.
Hypocritically!

And...
Done to claim,
A faith to have in God to pray.

As if this ignorance impresses,
Those observing and hearing...
Confessions made.
From scriptures to quote.
Learned!
Not understood.
But...
Performed.
In a show and tell,
Testifying contest.

Yet...
Proof to live,
What it is to hear heard their words...
Is left behind,
In churches where they worship.

Only to display in distances away,
From those aisles they walk...
Judgements passed on others.
With lies to spread.
Conflicts to start.
And racist bigotry.
Cemented in their hearts.
Although...
Christians,
They defend to claim to be!

Misunderstanding.
Their flattery to address it,
Would be more to their benefit...
If living their lives,
Reflected beliefs to claim them had.
They would not be left,
Making attempts to prove to God...
Blessings to receive,
Had not been man-made.
Pleasing God.
Suffering from consequences,
Their decisions made to pay.

Believing the mess they have created,
Has God thrilled and dancing.
Approving and accepting...
Their own destruction.
Done!
On both sides.
From aisles they walk.
Heads held high.

To leave,
With the best of hypocrisy achieved!
In all of its self serving righteousness.
Yet...
Can not accept,
The effects of their delusions kept!
