Analysis of Bitter sweet memories
Phil Roberts 1957 (Melbourne)
You find yourself yearning
For times now long past,
But there’s no going back.
Painful memories of better times
That you once knew.
Your memories give you
Both pleasure and pain,
Yet you won’t live without them.
Painful memories of easy times
Before things went wrong.
All memories bring pain
Some bring pleasure too;
None bring only pleasure.
So you cling to sweet memories
As painful as they may be.
