A TOWN LOST TO FEAR
Awful beings hunt the dark
Of a place where creatures rear,
Slinking through the alleyways
Of a town now lost to fear.
Beings from a twilight land
Bringing terror to them all,
Landed gentry and peasant folk
Cringe at doleful, wailing calls.
Fiends crouching in shadowy ways
Searching for unwary folk,
Wandering out late in the night
Not yet burdened by terror’s yolk.
Monstrous creatures lumber by
Beings from the fearful dark,
To haunt the people of this day
Sent here from some horrid past.
Slime trails fill the empty streets
Where foul creatures slowly pass,
Sniffing out the town of fear
Hunting for their sole repast.
Human meat is what they want
The only meat on which they feed,
Seeking through the fearful town
For the nourishment they need.
Through the darkened alleyways
Great serpentine beings do abound,
Slithering through the unlit streets
Hunting people through the town.
Past abandoned warehouse storerooms
Past a disused, crumbling church,
Through a town now lost to fear
Monstrous, unknown beings lurch.
