Da Masses

Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)

You know?
Some things can be inappropriate to say.
You don't know how dumb,
The people are these days are.
I'd be careful who I choose to insult.
If I were you.

'Excuse me?'

'I heard you say 'da masses'.

'Da masses who no longer need to wear,
Masks in public, dummy.'

'Uh...'

'Your nose up in my business.
Talking with my friends.
None to have introduced you.
Is one of the many reasons,
I am surprised your dumbness...
Has survived as long as it has.'

'I apologize.
I thought you were calling the people,
Something else.'

'And...
If I was,
Would your nose still be left unbroken?
