Jigsaw

Lost in familiar territory
Afraid I will never find myself
I’ve become a shadow of myself
Breaking down slowly as my mind watches

The pieces of the puzzle never seem to fit
I cannot find the hours to complete me
Remembering the days of hope without despair
I cannot find the corner to turn to the light

My sadness still has an inner burning
My walls are too high to reach the sun
I need someone to piece me together
The reaching hands shove me into the flame

I’m broken and scared, drowning in my filth
Walking the path of no return
Desperate,  I keep looking back for guidance
Finding I only have myself to blame
