LIFE’S TRIALS

A gray-haired man in Melbourne
Wonders when this awful year will end?
Will the New Year bring new hope?
Or has the Lord more trials to send?

A lonely, gray-haired man
Kept just sane by his cats,
Is trying to manage the trials of life
But hasn't learnt yet to fight back.

A man grown-old before his time
Has little left but family and friends,
He hopes as December approaches
The evil will finish as the old year ends.

He never knew life could be so hard
It seems almost beyond all reason,
He struggles to survive till Christmas
Hoping for new luck in the Festive Season.

But this poor man has little luck now
Still grieving his mother's death this year,
Still, he hangs on, desperate for change
As the New Year finally nears.

THE END
