Panic Attack

Had said a thing or two to hurt you
Life around me wasn’t smooth too
It was one of those weekends that wasnt swell
There was a trigger or two, that did dwell
Felt I was lost, lonely and unwanted that day
Everything I had was just slipping away

I couldn’t analyze or separate things out
A domino effect created, my mind blacked out
All I could feel was my heart beating fast
Thought I was angry and it wouldn’t last
I put my hand to my tightening chest to feel
Only to realize they were shaking for real

I tried to put my mind to something
But could only hear my heart pounding
I did not know what next to do
Thought a deep breath could help me thru
Opened my mouth, but gasped for air
I was all choked up inside there

Wanted to cry but couldn’t do that either
My body soon began to tremble thereafter
I felt helpless that I lost all control
Thought talking would calm my soul
All people heard m, was just my mumbling
What more could I do, was puzzling

So I quickly tucked myself into bed
Thought I could sleep this out of my head
I stayed wide awake in fear waiting for it end
Don’t recall when sleep did finally descend
Woke up late next morning, tired and in fright
Was that a panic attack I survived last night?

Mahesh Wadhwani

I always apologize for the length of my text as that’s the best way for me to communicate rather than verbally!! Not a man of many words but still manage to doodle when in mood to write, which is rare!! I am not even sure if what I scribble is poetry or even what form or just words that rhyme!! To me writing is an art, a sign of creativity and a means of expression. I don't really think that anyone can just write without any feelings, without having felt, without having lived, experienced or cherished. Whatever one writes, there is some amount of a persons own feelings and presence or of those around them, indicated in the works. So I am thankful to all the people in my life and those yet to come for having given me life, love, happiness and even pain. At-least I have had the opportunity to feel it , live it and express it, whatever it maybe. Cheers! more…
