THE SAVAGE TOWN
The savage town is wide awake
Long after twilight time falls,
Lurid images haunt the streets
And hungry coyotes loudly call.
Shrilling fills the town by night
Shadowy forms leap from the darkness,
Starving beasts are approaching
From out of the neighbouring forest.
Predators running through the streets
Looking for living things to devour,
Shrieking with a voice like death
As they hunt past the witching hour.
Phantom forms glide through the air
Watching solo travellers just below,
Circling just above their heads
Observing everywhere they go.
The savage town is wide awake
Hoping very soon to get to eat,
Hunting after sundry small vermin
Though their first choice is human meat.
Desiring very soon to partake
In a wild Bacchanalian feast,
In the centre square of the town
Where the innocents soundly sleep.
With an unholy screeching overhead
Bat-wing death begins to descend,
Towards a misplaced wanderer
Unaware his life could very soon end.
About the savage town after dark
Sinister creatures softly slithering,
Toward your wayward walking form
Monstrosities to leave you quivering.
THE END
