THE TRAVELLER
Creeping amongst the darkness
The traveller is slowly walking,
In no particular direction until
In the distance, he hears lovers talking.
Then in their direction, he heads
Determined to commit mayhem,
When he reaches the lovers
And starts teasing, taunting them.
He mentally probes the couple
To finds secrets lurking there,
To find if the man is just after sex
Or whether he really cares.
Whether the woman loves the man
Or is just casually leading him on,
Hoping to find some hidden truths
That he can nefariously act upon.
Making the woman fear the man
He helps her doubting to start,
So instead of them getting engaged
He gradually drives them apart.
Then as they leave separately
He sets off to find other prey,
Whom he can hurt, can taunt
Perhaps kill, before the light of day.
The traveller spreads chaos
Throughout every place he goes,
By probing minds for dark secrets
Before letting on all that he knows.
He whispers dreadful truths
Into the most innocent ears,
Convincing friends to hate each other
By dredging up subconscious fears.
