Together we stand

Nikki Lauder 1979 (Taumaranui)

All as we know it,
In disarray.
Everything we were
Has gone far away.
Thrown to the wolves
And left for dead.
Prepared for all,
We thought, we said.
We silently watch
As our drama unfolds.
Wondering exactly
What our future holds.
Life, as we knew it
Never to be the same.
Such and occurrence, to fathom,
Doesn’t seem sane.
Tested we are being,
And United we must stand.
Through the terror that is,
On our feet we shall land.
We grieve the loses,
And praise the progress.
Optimistic I have been,
But now I digress.
We can move forward together,
Using our strength.
Compassion and love,
We share freely at length.
As our earth heals,
We shall rest.
A new existence will follow,
To which I’m sure is for the best.
So come walk with me
Through life’s new open door.
To a new world where we
Can stand together forever more.

Aroha ki a koutou katoa
Kia haumaru
Kia atawhai
Kia kaha
Ka matou tenei!

Love to you all
Stay safe
Be kind
Stay strong
We got this!
