MIDNIGHT
A man could go
Into the woods at midnight,
A man could lose
His way at twilight;
A man could lose
His mind from fright,
A man could die
Of fright, at midnight.
A beast could stalk
In the dark of night,
A panting could be heard
Just beyond sight;
Death could creep in
The shadows of twilight,
A man could soon die
At midnight.
A woman could walk
Through a park at night,
A man could stalk her
Just out of sight;
A woman defiled
At twilight,
Rape and death abound
At midnight.
