OUT IN THE SINISTER NIGHT
Out in the sinister night
Dreadful creatures roar,
Signalling they stalk the night
Postmen, Whisperers, Manticore.
Out in the lengthening shadows
The Deadly Temptress slinks,
Hoping to lure lonely men over
To take them to the very brink.
The brink of ecstasy at first
Then to the very brink of death,
Devouring their very life force
As she inhales their final breath.
Travellers, Dark Angels, Almost People
All are waiting in the sinister night,
Hoping to terrify the innocent
Perhaps even making them die of fright.
Gargoyles, goblins, and gremlins
Are outside in this awful town,
Chasing after any living quarry
Attempting to run them to ground.
Out in the sinister night
Winged behemoths fly,
Swooping down on their prey
From out of the pitch-black sky.
Shoggoths and pterodactyls
Are both winging overhead,
Longing to soon make a killing
And to make the streets run red.
Out into this malevolent town
Predators lope down the roads,
Hoping to catch the guileless outside
A long way from the safety of home.
