PEREFCT MOTHERHOOD

Perfect- A word that scares me because of the weight it carries
A word so complex, that people's perception of perfect varies.

Coz what is perfect for me, may be incorrect for some,
Whereas their idea of perfect may look fearsome.

You know what's scarier- the term- PERFECT MOTHERHOOD
Why motherhood has to be perfect, I have never understood.

My love for my little one is perfect
but I do make mistakes
I cherish each moment with my little one
but we both still have bad days

My intention is perfect
but I still miss few things
I have never experienced love more pure
but still on days annoyance seeps

Spending the day with my little one is perfect
but I often dont get time to comb my hair
I wonder why I am not in shape like that perfect mom
Even I though I run around here and there

My motherhood is a blessing
But add 'Perfect' and it gets confusing

I know I do not check all boxes of what should have been
I am a loved, blessed mother, perfect for myself
Let the world not define perfect for me.

About this poem

A poem about the beauty of motherhood....but asking why motherhood can't be beautiful and messy at the same time...does it really have to be perfect in the worldly sense?
