The Inevitability

Beneath the flapping of the tongues
was a pulsating delight in the tall grass;
The chomping of the teeth soon echoed
throughout the quivering mass.

The dripping sky hung low as as each
tried to make it to the inevitable end;
All that together, in and of itself,
was the message they wanted to send.
