Inherited Worth

We all will claim,
Something possessed to obtain.
Has been earned to own it.
Or stolen from somewhere.
To declare a doing of it kept to keep.
Thieves we all are of such beliefs.

Yet sitting around,
Surrounded by our precious treasures.
Few with enlightened consciousness.
Will do this without it to confess.
Everything to wax, polish or dust.
With a removing of smudges.
Collected from fingerprints touched.
Eventually becomes,
Priceless dirt.
Returning back to Earth.
To inherit more the worth of it.
And used.
As the Earth chooses!

'Can't you say anything positive,
During these festive...
And blessed to experience holidays?!'

'I did.
I said...
It is the Earth that inherits,
All that we have to know its worth.
And we, as invited visitors,
Are the benefactors of it!
What's negative about that?'

'Well...
Nothing did you mention,
About us being the benefactors.'

'What is it that allows you to breathe?
Or...
Complain about the high prices of gifts,
You select to pick to purchase...
For those you already know,
Only wants a decorated box.
With something in it,
They neither wished for or need.
And...
After being taken for granted,
To do what you did to please them.
Who do you pray to done to ask,
For a forgiveness to have thoughts...
You know during these festive days,
A doing your best to stay grateful!'

'You have no idea,
What it takes to get others...
To appreciate what is done for them.'

'That doesn't matter.
The Earth does.
To appreciate time and time again,
Our contributions to collect.
And accepted at our expense.
Even though,
The doing of it...
May not from us come to know,
As a showing of appreciation.
Yet...
Ultimately,
Our thoughtlessness does have benefits.'

'Where on Earth,
Do you climate changing people...
Come from?'

'Now...
If I said the Earth.
Would you then feel more concerned?'

'Happy Holidays.
No more time do I have,
For this nonsense.'

'I hope your comments made,
Come from a disgruntled shopper.
And not from a prophet,
Blessed with The Gift.
Since...
I am hoping time left we all have.
And lots of it.
Before the Earth values it more than us!'

'Thank you for reminding me.'

'Reminding you?
About what?'

'My need to buy two,
Instead of one bottle of scotch.
A case of beer.
And a keg of both vodka and whiskey!'

'I don't drink.'

'To that I am not surprised at all.
However...
I'm willing to bet,
Folks you talk to either become...
Addicted to drugs or alcohol.'
