Puppies

Catrina Fuentes 1981 (United States)

They whimper and whine
Because they want their way
They jump and paw at you
When they want to play
As you walk through the door
After a long day at work
They jump up in excitement
Biting and jerking on your shirt
You go to sit down
So they jump in your lap
They give you a big wet kiss
Then take a long nap
Napping is what they do
To grow that little body
Chewing is what they do
As a pastime hobby
They steal your socks
Right out of the basket
You need lots of patience
Or you will blow a gasket
Puppies are destructive
But are worth it all
So don’t get a puppy unless
You’re in it for the long haul.
