The Future is Calling Us

The future is calling us
don’t mourn the changing tide.
The future is calling us
Let’s let the moment go
and jump on for the ride.

The future us await us
Let’s not resist our destiny.
The present, an excursion
Though it’s all that we can see.

Good, better, best?
Live true to past the test.
The past just let it rest.
Embrace what’s coming next.

The future you and I dear
stare back into our eyes
informing us, and guiding us
to life’s next big surprise.

Our hearts are over flowing,
our scales are seeking balance
Yes, the future, next transition,
needs the full scale of our talents.

Life simply prepares us,
for the future we step into.
Seems the stars aligned for us
woke to what it always knew.

The future calls in silence,
at other times in whispers,
gracefully brushing hearts and ears,
much like a kitten's whiskers.

The long arms of forever,
reach lovingly, toward us.
Life is school and it’s almost time,
for a ride on the red school bus.

About this poem

This is a poem of hope. Hope and faith are the foundation of my beliefs l. I saw a strange sky around the time I wrote this poem. It lookex like God had just put a sky sized hand over the city leaving giant symetrical oval openings in the overcast sky.

Ms. Scottye Battle

I'm a lover of words and rythmn. Ive been writing as a form of exression since I was in middle school. My writing naturally drifted into poetry as I got older, traveled the world and lived in Japan, at which time I was published in Poetry.com's The sound of poetry Collection with my poem "Johnny, Didn't I?" Im a 20 year vereran teacher of exceptional students and and through that time my writing changed when I participated in an open mic and again as my search for love grew, evolving with time. more…
