Perfect To Me
The crinkle in her nose was not perfect
Neither was her laugh
But it was perfect to me
The ideas she thought up were far from perfect
Neither was the things she did
But they were perfect to me
They say that the perfect girl means a girl with blonde hair
And blue eyes, freckles that dot your face.
But that is not perfect to me
Her hair changing like the colors of a rainbow is perfect to me. Her brown eyes that reflect a million fireflies are perfect to me. Her laugh and her smile are my perfect fantasy.
I will love her always, even if she chooses another.
That outcome may not be perfect to me, but if it’s perfect for her, then it is perfect for me.
About this poem
I wrote it about a girl that I fell in love with a while back. We dated for a while, but decided to stay friends so that our friendship would not be ruined. She’s had a boyfriend since then, and I supported them the whole way. It hurt me, but I said nothing. I guess I’m saying something.
