Lets go Walking
Richard Groff 1957 (Pottstown, Pa.)
Blonde hair, green eyes deep as the sea
Behold the love I have for thee
My dove, my doe, my timid one
Come walk with me out in the sun
Across the hills and mountain tops
Through fertile fields among the crops
When harvest time has come at last
The saints begin to pray and fast
Their future has become too clear
But perfect love drives out their fear
They know they must die for their faith
But death’s harsh sting they will not taste
Instead back on their feet they’ll stand
Together now as just one man
To-get-her comes one from her fold
The Mighty One from days of old
The Christ, the Savior of all men
Who have repented of their sin
And have believed upon His Name
They’ll rise up now for Jesus’ fame
