Reticulum
Sitting out on the January side of the Sun
entangled in a web of moments on this spinning orb.
Paused between the sting of eighteen below
and the joy of twelve inches of fresh snow.
The edges of this day rest against the fringes
of yesterday and tomorrow.
One holds hope, one some sorrow.
This sweet honeycomb keeps us all,
each one of us, in cells to live our span
like a bonnet keeping us safe from the tumult
of exploding stars.
It is the King’s Hood
feeding tomorrow with the
the byproducts of each day.
Skipping forward to germinate the next cell
with today’s leftovers and yesterday’s dreams
striving for a purpose we thus write plans that are but dotty tripe.
Expectations are the seeds of disappointments.
Which is fine, knowing that some expectations
are birthed from evil plans and those disappointments are but saving grace.
Sufficient unto this winter and every other day
are the tragic results of men’s plan done awry.
I rejoice and am glad on this January side of the Sun
The mouse schemes not and so shan’t I.
About this poem
This poem speaks of the way our yesterdays feeds today and our todays feeds tomorrow as being nature's orderly way of sustaining itself. Every individual can decide to relax in "natures time flow" and be at peace (one with nature) or risk disappointment with contrary schemes
