Precious gift?

It starts as a tiny spot
Which to the naked eye, barely visible.
But with time that little dot
Becomes a bump that's to all visible

The mystery of this growth
Is overwhelming to Mankind.
Even the sower and receiver, both
Are overwhelmed at their kind.

But the greatest mystery of all
Is how this wonderful gift from above
Can be a curse to some,
And to others a blessing to adore.

To the unplanned womb,
It's called unwanted; some say,
It's a serious mistake, setback and a broom
That sweeps all her dreams away.
Pregnancy, to the planned couple
Is always a news of celebrations and joy
As they both anxiously await to curdle
That precious gift of a child; and it's a boy!

About this poem

This poem is about pregnancy, which is usually a precious gift to many, yet some see it as a bad news. Depending on who's responding, thus the question: is it a precious gift?
