Watch Your Step

Richard Groff 1957 (Pottstown, Pa.)

Does it always have to be so hard?
Does it always hurt to be getting right?
No! the pain only lasts for a little while.

Once upon a notion; evil plans were set in motion
And no one could perceive the dreaded outcome

What you want from others;
When you learn to love your brothers
Is just a love that you can’t stay away from?

So, don’t learn to be wicked
From a man who has a thick head
Wisdom won’t come easy to a fool

Then when you can’t be seated
Conversation might get heated
And nothing that you say will be too cool
