Pure Love

Richard Groff 1957 (Pottstown, Pa.)

If you don’t want to be bothered,
You need not say a word.
Just stay at a safe distance,
And you will not be disturbed.

But if you want relationship,
You’ll have to open up.
Just give until it hurts this time,
And that will be enough.

Don’t stop short or falter on,
The path that you’ve been given;
Walk along the river now,
And know that you’re forgiven.

Just like the light is beautiful,
At sunset or sunrise;
So is the love between the two,
Who don’t share any lies!
