Past

Life is good,
Life is fine.
It’s going great
And it’s a smooth ride.
Then confusion,
Pain,
Horror.
Stolen innocence,
Childhood joy and happiness
Are gone.
Years later,
You feel the pain as if a knife were
Stabbing your heart.
You feel as if it’s
All your fault.
Guilt,
Endless pain.
Painful memories,
Silent crying.
Racked with guilt.
Counseling,
Therapy,
Breathe in and out,
Calm down your
Terrible memories.
It helps
For a while,
But it keeps coming back,
Like an infestation that
You can’t get rid of.
Your terrible,
Horrible memories
Beat you down
And tear you apart.
Your past is scaring you
Nearly to death.
