Powerless

The destiny of many
Being held in the hands of few.
Dancing in abandon
Under the sun,
Singing with the wind.

Which fool
Might hold those strings
Brittle threads close to the fire.

What of we?
Not sand but dust,
Not wind but breath.

Pieces of us becoming
Earth and wind.
