Expectations

To you, each step I take is a blunder
I grew up resenting you, no wonder
Your expectations became my horror
I’m not adept to handle such pressure

Sick of being what you want me to be
Take back my life, I just want to be me
Exploitation is getting out of hand
Guilt-tripping while abusing thy command

Under the pressure, walking in your shoes
It's my own life, but I can't even choose
You held me in my neck this entire time
I owe you nothing, you owe me a crime

Living a story already written
Making them proud is a heavy burden
Wants to let go of their expectations
Releasing myself from these frustrations
